Good Afternoon/Guten Tag! Here I am in New Hope's computer lab - our awesome computer lab! A parent gave new flat-screen monitors and they look so nice! Thank you, dear parents, and thank You, dear God! And thank you, Jacob, for showing me how to do this blog. New Hope begins tomorrow, Tuesday, September 1st. Last night I made 4 loaves of the Amish Friendship Bread so took some over to the office for the hungry busy teachers! Also took some to Highland House for the hungry busy nurses. I have four sourdough starters to the first four hungry takers! The crockpot is busy getting tonight's supper with split peas, salami, and everything adding up in the refrigerator. The dove is enjoying flying. I just copied something I wrote awhile back about Jesus as the Bread of life to put with the recipe for the friend bread. And now I plan to make whole wheat bread, full of vitamins and good things - molasses, honey, olive oil, freshly ground whole wheat. Our wheat grinder, an E

Good Morning! Just wanted to share with you all God's goodness to Jacob and us in his new-to-him nice car! Susanna's husband Dave found it online and he is especially good at Subarus. He & Suzy each have one and he found one for Daniel and now for Jacob! Today Terell & I go up to Corban for the Parent-Student Days.

Hi Everyone, Warmer at 98! Just talked to Jacob and he is going swimming with some Corban kids. Benjy is busy with his chemistry class. Christen got a teaching job! She will be teaching 3rd grade! A busy exciting day! Jacob drove his nice burgundy subaru to school today via Benjy at OSU and Daniel & Christen at WOU. Daniel & Christen escorted him to Corban to help him learn the route. We are looking forward to the Friday Parent/Student meetings. Also the New Hope Staff potluck was a lot of fun at Chuck and Kim Kostrna's.

Good Morning/ 8:35am PST A beautiful morning here! Inservice for New Hope staff. The sun is shining so brightly. I am still reading my Bible but took a moment to write. Am doing a cool fill-in course by Moody Bible. Am in the library at school hanging out. Already made the eggs and toast for everyone, Jacob is at the orthodontist. Dave & Susanna are planning to bring Jacob's car over later today after Dave works on the brakes. In your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. Nice Sunday. The birds seem to know it is Sunday. This morning they were quite noticeable and flying around and having fun! We have the prettiest little birds. And they do love the berries. And yes, I have picked blackberries, and yes, I need to pick more! In between getting vehicles fixed and having company and fixing meals and all the regular things. Our friends from Vietnam/Viet Nam are enjoying their visit. In their country they say Viet Nam but over here we often say/write Vietnam and they said either is fine. Now we are racing to get ready for school starting next Tuesday, September 1.

Saturday/day before Sunday/rather busy, Hello! Jacob & I are trying to upload pictures from my cell phone to the computer for access. So far we have not accomplished it and believe me, if it can be done, he will find out how. We tried several ways, a little time limit here, so plan b may be to try later and or ask David. Planning to make bread soon. Our visitors went to the lake with the Youth for Christ group. The Chi Alpha kids are here - always nice. The dove just flew out of the bathroom - his favorite place to hang out. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child. When I became a man, I put away childish ways.

A lovely day! Dinner for Alcanteras and a nice visit with holding their darling baby! Fun with Ngoc as she likes to shop and found some nice things for Sam. Our supper is almost ready as I cooked double earlier. Wonderful fans from my parents. And a wonderful God Who cares greatly about us and wants us to learn to be like Him.

Good afternoon, Xin chao, PST (Pacific Standard Time), Our friends are here from Vietnam, Ngoc and son Sam. We are having fun learning tieng Anh (English) and tieng Viet (Vietnamese)! Did you know English is known as Anh to the Vietnamese. Also, the word for to fix and the word for milk are spelled the same but have a different tone - sua and sua. Thank you is cam on. I need the accent marks. Also some fun at the Josephine County Fair! Lots of cute goats. Some tiny baby ones. Also sheep with the latest hairdo - they leave a little tuft of wool and they look really nice. Nice to chat with your friends that are there. The Grants Pass band is raising money to fly to New York in 2011 so we got coffee at their booth. Saw a cornstalk about 12 feet tall! Decorated cakes, fudge, canned jams, sewing (I did 7 years of 4-H sewing!), and a beautiful canoe made from layers of different woods. Definitely worth your time. And New Hope has a good food booth open at approximately 4 to 4:3

Good Morning PST, Jacob's blog was so fun and up-to-date and I thought I would try it. He is good at computer things and keeps telling me to try things! I just tried uploading a picture but will need a little time for that - my pictures seem to be on the desk computer and not on this laptop. Our friends from Vietnam are here - so fun. Sam will be here for the school year and his Mom for two weeks. She is so good at teaching the language and I am delighted. Probably from piano and music I can hear the sound variation fairly well. Of course as a beginner, having had Dylan last school year and learning some from him. Jacob has been home from Vanuatu 10 days - we are still learning more about all of you. We looked at Vanuatu on Google Earth last night and he was delighted to see the roads and trails he ran on! Benjy was home for the summer, helped Terell a lot and we are working on getting the green pickup ready for him. The carburetor is being rebuilt by a man in Jacksonvill
