Bowdoin Bulletin 2014

Once upon a time Year 2014!  Every year so full...Thank You Lord so many blessings!
2013 was our introduction to pastoring a church. We enjoyed a wonderful New Year's Eve Party with the people from Redwood Country Church. And Ben and Deb Siefker's wedding on January 4 was a wonderful beginning for 2014!  Ben was so delighted and Debra so beautiful as she walked down the winding stairway on her Dad's arm to marry Ben! What a delightful day of sharing Ben and Deb's joy!

On January 12 Tom Vu from Vietnam came to our home with his Mom. His mother accompanied him to help get him accustomed to New Hope and the US.  Tom joined Stephen from Thailand and David Kim from Korea.

We had a double blessing this year with the beautiful wedding of our second son David to Wanda Park. We enjoyed having a nice shower for Wanda. I sewed like crazy to make a zebra type skirt of all colors to wear. Their wedding was at Calvary Crossroad Saturday March 29, 2014

The rhododendrons and dogwood trees again looked very pretty as April and May unfolded.

We had two graduations in June.  David Kim graduated from New Hope June 7th.  Daniel graduated from Western Oregon University June 14 with his Masters Degree in Educational Technology, Stephen flew back to Thailand and Jacob drove up to Canada to Trinity Western SIL in British Columbia.  Redwood Country Church hosted Vacation Bible School for Child Evangelism kids and community kids June 23-27.  We had between 20 and 30 kids with a number praying for salvation.
Praise God!
July was busy with hosting 4 boys from China for 2 weeks and 1 boy from Korea for a month.  Jake came to us taking pictures and playing the piano with great delight. We took them to Crater Lake and Diamond Lake. The weather was wonderfully hot.  We attended Tyler Park and Rebekah Coulter's wedding. They also were very beautiful!
August was our Family Camp at Lake of the Woods Aug. 14-17. Jonathan brought his boat and everyone enjoyed riding or wakeboarding,  We spread out various tents and a motorhome and enjoyed table games, shared meals, and campfires each evening, Aunt Mabel was not able to attend but we were blessed to have her praying for us.
Our garden was quietly producing tons of food! Green beans, squash, tomatoes, peppers, grapes, cucumbers. Plus Uncle Mike is coming!
September we enjoyed a 3-week visit from Uncle Mike. He loves music and played a xylophone for us nicely.  Yeob Yoo from Korea and Harry Cai from China came to join our family.
Erma Diller received her home going call this month. She faithfully led the ladies Bible studies and
came to weekly prayer. She encouraged and enjoyed everyone at church. God blessed her with 96 wonderful years during which she and Glenn pastored this same church. Raising 6 lovely children, CEF, lampmaking, wallpapering, Bible teaching and sewing more than filled her days.
At this time Bill Lewis found out he was fighting leukemia. The doctors here had him airlifted to Portland the same day to begin treatment. Prayers are so helpful.
October brought the exciting news of Daniel and Christen soon to be parents! Also exciting for Sydney Marie to turn one the day before Uncle Jacob turned 24! Grandma spent a lot of time sewing table napkins.
November brought us all together for a wonderful time of Thanksgiving! The kids were able to all come and it was so nice. Uncle Duane and Aunt Cathy also drove up from So. Cal. bringing Cathy's Mom and Nathan. Wonderful fellowship and food! Amazing cooks in our family.  And as we look forward to December and thinking of Jesus coming to earth for each one of us, we praise and thank You dear God -  priesen und danken - fur alles!!!
